The short version: we collect nothing

Privacy Policy

Last updated May 24, 2026

Viridian is built to be a quiet, private place. The app has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no trackers. Your garden — every task, day, reflection and goal — lives only on your device. We never see it, and it never leaves your phone unless you back it up yourself through Apple.

What the app collects

Nothing leaves your device. Viridian stores your tasks, daily records, reflections, long-term goals, coins, streaks and preferences locally using Apple's on-device frameworks (SwiftData and your device's storage). There is no Viridian account to create and no Viridian server to sync to.

If you have iCloud Backup enabled, your device — including app data — may be backed up to your own iCloud account under Apple's privacy policy. That's between you and Apple; we have no access to it.

Screen Time & Family Controls

Viridian's focus and app-blocking features use Apple's Family Controls, DeviceActivity and ManagedSettings frameworks. These are privacy-preserving by design: when you choose which apps to limit, that selection is handled by the system and represented by opaque tokens. Viridian never learns the names of your apps, your usage history, or which apps you actually opened — and none of it is ever transmitted anywhere.

These features only activate after you explicitly grant Screen Time authorization, and you can revoke that permission at any time in iOS Settings.

The contact form on this website

If you use the contact form on this site, the name, email address and message you type are sent to our inbox so we can reply. We use Resend as the email delivery service to carry that message. We use what you send only to respond to you — never to advertise, and never sold or shared with anyone else.

This website is hosted on Vercel, which may process standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security and reliability. The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies.

Children

Viridian is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — including children. Because the app collects nothing, there is nothing for us to gather from younger users.

Your control

Because your data is local, you are always in control. Deleting the app removes its data from your device. You can grant or revoke Screen Time permission whenever you like, and you can simply not use the contact form if you'd prefer to share nothing at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Given how little Viridian collects, we expect any changes to be small.
